The Ultimate Go Anywhere Any Time Tour
Historical And Anecdotal knowledge Is Encyclopedic

IT'S no wonder London's cabbies are celebrated for The Knowledge, their intimate acquaintance with the obscure lanes and overlooked cut-troughs of the capital. Richard Liddle, who has been a cabbie for 30 years and is an official City of London guide, can say with confidence: "I will tailor-make a tour to fit anybody".

He has guided young Goths from Bram Stoker's house in Chelsea to Highgate Cemetery and his Harry Potter film tours not only take fans to places such as Leadenhall market, which stood in for Diagon Alley, where Hagrid leads Harry off to buy his wand and cape, but he provides the broomsticks as well.

With a black taxi at my disposal, I could leave someone else to worry about traffic wardens and drive past everything from the majestic Guildhall in The City to London's smallest square, Pickering Place in St James's.

The last duel was fought here. Today, a bust of Lord Palmerston, demoted from an elevated position on a column somewhere else, sits on the flagstones. Richard's historical and anecdotal knowledge is encyclopedic, so if you want the ultimate go-anywhere, any-time tour, follow that cab.

Emails from satisfied clients...
Hi Richard,  greetings from wonderful New York State.   I wanted to write and thank  you upon arrival home from my lovely trip to London.
I enjoyed my tour of London with you and my daughter-in law.  It was so special to see all the places that are not a part of the usual tourist trip. (Fri.  May 13th) I wish you continued good health to escort many more folks around your lovely city. Hoping that some day you  WILL BE presented with that wonderful walking stick filled with a good drink of your choosing. Once again my THANKS.      Sincerely yours,
Helen Keegan Basile

Hi Richard, Hope you are well and you had a good bank holiday weekend.I am writing to say a huge thank you for a fantastic tour on Wednesday 27th. You exceeded all of my expectations, the tour was informative, personal and because of your knowledge and fantastic personality, it was a very special experience for my parents. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it too! I can't thank you enough for taking time to make a tour of London, truly unforgettable. Mum and Dad didn't stop talking about it for the rest of the week, and when we were watching the royal wedding coverage, your name was mentioned on numerous occasions in the context that you would have been far better at doing the commentary! I am sure we will be in touch in the future to learn more about London, it is a wonderful place and you bring it to life. I will also recommend you to anyone that I get the chance to, I can't speak highly enough about you. A big thank you, I am very appreciative of all that you did for us. Looking forward to seeing you in the future, but in the meantime, all the very best wishes to you. Kind regards

Hi Richard, I wanted to write to let you know we got back home in one piece, we were in Heathrow when we heard about the bombs in London - and to think we were right there one week earlier. I am so sad to hear about all this it is a terrible thing. I hope that you are OK and that your business will not suffer too much due to the attacks. Well the girls (Kritiana and Brittany) just kept repeating many of the things you had taught them to our family in Liverpool and now here. They had a really good time with you and enjoyed every minute and I think you enjoyed their enthusiasm too. They just took everything in like little sponges. You made our trip in London a wonderful memory in many ways. My Dad has not stopped singing your praises to anyone who will listen and me too. I hope we will see you again. If we come to London we will be in touch that is for sure. And if you come to Canada I would be more than happy to show you around Montreal. Again Thank you for everything. Take good care of yourself.
Gillian

Hi Richard, I just wanted to say THANK YOU for a wonderful tour you gave my friends and I a few weeks back (Sunday morning, January 19). We truly had a great time and enjoyed every moment. We really appreciate the time you took with us - we managed to see a lot of the city in such a short visit. We have already looked into visiting London again. We have even done a little internet research on the flats! Again, thank you for a wonderful time

Hi Richard, Just a note to say thanks again for a very enjoyable and educational tour of London. We really appreciated your expert guidance and obvious affection for the little-known parts of your fascinating city. Our following two days there were all the richer for the discoveries you showed us. All the best to you and your family. Cheers
The Pettersens

Hi Allyson, Just a quick email to say how much we enjoyed ourselves yesterday it was great and Richard really looked after us.  Thank you to both of you.  We want to come again some time so will keep your contact details.
Annette

Hello, I just wanted to send a quick email thanking Mr. Liddle for our wonderful Harry Potter Tour.  We enjoyed every minute of it and were so grateful to have such a knowledgeable tour guide, we felt  completely at ease.   This tour was a definite highlight for my daughter! Thank you again, I will be sure to recommend your services in the future.
Deanna Jaworski

I just wanted to say thanks and let you know that we had a fabulous time with Richard! As usual, London Walks provided us with an excellent tour! Cheers!
Stephanie

Hi Richard/George, Just a quick note to thank you for such a fantastic time last Saturday.  We all found it very informative, and far better than we had anticipated.  Your vast knowledge and historic enthusiasm was superb.  The children have enthusiastically been telling one and all the facts they have learnt, which are many.  My Father was appalled at the changes to The Wig and Pen and like you failed to understand how planning permission was granted for the changes. We will keep your card and come back to you in the future should the situation arise, and will tell others of the experience. Once again, many thanks
Karen

Richard, Thank you very much for a couple of very wonderful days in your fine city!   We found you to be very informative and pleasant to be around -- job well done!   We are excited to see Scotland with Bob as well -- thank you for referring us to him! As an FYI, the tour guide we have lined up for Dublin/Ireland is Kieran at TourDublin.ie ...we will let you know what our experience is with him in case you have any other clients inquiring about Irish guides. Thanks again and we will definitely look you up next time we are in the area!
Jason, Andrew, Kim & Jim

Hi Richard, We have all really enjoyed telling everyone about our day with you! (We also had a great time with Bob in Edinburgh, so thanks for the tip!) Emmet and Caroline love looking at our pictures of Oxford and all the Harry Potter stops. They remember the dining hall at Christ Church as a special high point of our trip (the Alice window, the Strange painting)... I loved zipping around in the taxi and leaving all the work of finding places to you. It was my most relaxing day, as I was the tour guide most of the time. We'll be sure to recommend your tours to friends heading to London, and we will definitely books some time with you on our next trip - I'm aiming for a visit every two years. I'll send the photos of Emmet at Platform 9 3/4 in a separate email. Thanks so much for a wonderful day!
Sundae, Rita, Emmet and Caroline

Hi Richard, Many thanks for an excellent tour of London, and tour guide. When asked about his favorite time in England, my son revealed it was the tire puncture at Heathrow! Thanks again and regards,
Craig Sopin

Hi Richard!   My mom and I just wanted to say THANK YOU again for taking us around the city on Oct 23 and 24.  The Tower of London tour was amazing, and wish we could have spent days there.  Incredibly fascinating.  Ending up at the pub was a great way to end the day.  The food was delicious!   We definitely enjoyed our time in London. As promised, I did forward your information (phone numbers and website) on to our travel agent, along with rave reviews. I've attached a few photo's I thought you might enjoy.  A few from the Queen Mary 2 and some from the city. Cheers!
Cheryl

Dear Mary, Thank you for everything in the UK.  We liked the tour very much.  Your guide, Mr Richard Liddle is a very good and kind man. Thanks to him, we could have a great time in London.  We visited Harry Potter's film location spots,  Covent Garden and many other places, eat at the IVY, which is as good as its price, and went inside  Buckingham Palace which is very amazing!!  He was kind enough to show us how to get to the Tower Hill station.  As the Thames River boat arrived late, we couldn't have joined Jack the Ripper tour if he hadn't.

Richard:  Please accept our most sincere thanks for a thoroughly delightful day of learning, sights, history, humor and FUN!  The entire day was a treat.  We appreciate your knowledge of London and ability to share it with people that don't know the city.  We look forward to future trips including our visit in April.  We will let you know our plans as soon as they are final.  Again, THANK YOU for a memorable day.

Harry Potter Tour Testimonials...

Our driver was absolutley brilliant. He was excited to be with us, and to tell us all he knew about Harry Potter and about London. Thoroughly enjoyed by our 15 and 17 year old daughters, and mum and dad. Highly recommended to all.

The price for this tour seemed very high, however, this was the highlight of our trip for my kids and my husband and I too. Very fun to see all of the different locations. You could not do this on your own. Our driver was very pleasant and thoroughly enjoyed his job which made it very pleasurable. Highly recommended.

My daughter and I had a fabulous time on this tour! Our guide was outstanding. He knew his Harry Potter trivia and was just a pleasure to travel with. He showed us so much of London and gave us great suggestions of other things to do during our stay.  I would definitely recommend this tour to Harry Potter fans young and old!

I'm not a Potter fan, but my wife and daughter are, and I found it almost as entertaing as they did. The driver was very knowlegable about Potter and London, and kept us entertained and informed for hours. This is well worth the cost, as it's actually two tours in one. I highly recommend this to any London Visitor!
Robert B, United States of America, June 2009

We loved the Harry Potter Tour. The tour guide was very informative. It was well worth the money to see the different sites along the tour route. The tour guide also offered interesting and informative facts about London that we were able to use in our travels.

Terrific, would recommend.
Carolynne H, United States of America, January 2009

Have to confess to being a Harry Potter fan, absolutely love the books and the films. Our tour leader was a Blue Badge Guide, the highest level, and he took us to so many interesting places. The imagination used to convert different sites to movie scenes is great. Did you know that Gringots Bank is Australia House? This was a fast-paced, fun and enlightening tour, and even though we had no children with us, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Carmol M, Australia, October 2008

This tour was fantastic. Our tour escort was very nice and knowledgeable. It was great to see the areas in London, England where Harry Potter was filmed. We have come home and had a Harry Potter marathon with my daughter's friends to BRAG that we saw or was able to stand on certain spots in the films. It was incredible.
Leann N, Canada, September 2008

We had a great time on our Harry Potter tour. The tour guide was truly friendly, incredibly knowledgeable about all things London. He was a pleasure to spend the morning with. The kids were so excited to see the many spots throughout London that was used in the filming of the movies. The cab was waiting for us even before the arranged time, it was completely clean, comfortable and a wonderful morning was had by our family.
Donald H, United States of America, September 2008

Took this tour with my two kids, ages 20 and 18, both major fans. Tour was great. Guide was super knowledgeable of the movies and books, and of London, and English history. Highly recommend.
Kathleen A, United States of America, August 2008

If you're a Harry Potter fan this tour is by far the best out there and was the highlight of our nieces and nephews summer vacation. They're still talking about it. We saw all that the tour promised and more! The tour was very personable and intimate in that it was a one on one with only your group and the tour guide. We felt like royalty driving around in our own personal black taxi cab. Our tour guide was absolutely amazing and went the extra mile for his passengers. He knew his Potter trivia and took the time to get the kids interested by relating facts in the book. I only wish they'd shown this much excitement about the historical places we visited. He also took an 8 year old's inquiring mind seriously when asked if there really is such a thing as magic. At Kings Cross he brought out a cape, cap and wand for the kids to wear for photos at platform 9! Wow! He was so patient with all the photos we wanted to take. At the end of the tour, he even had Potter money for us to purchase as a souvenir. No butter beer though!  Warning - be prepared that this tour is not a tour of a movie studio but actual London locations. If you're a Harry Potter fan it wont matter, you've got the imagination and the magic to see it like it is.
Susan and Sandra S, Canada, August 2008

Exceeded every expectation I had and therefore received full value and more. Watching the delight and utter joy in the eyes of my child was priceless. Not only was our guide knowledgeable, but personable and excited about the tour as well. I would highly recommend the tour. A highlight of our London vacation.
Stuart L, Canada, July 2008

Tour was great. Our driver knew absolutely everything there was to know about Harry Potter. Probably more than J.K. Rowling herself. Everyone we told about the tour was interested in it. I do think it is a shame that some of the things couldn't have stayed more like in the movie.
Waunzelle P, United States of America, July 2008

Our tour guide was excellent. He had props for us to wear and play with. He took his time in showing us all the Harry Potter sites and a lot of extras sites on the route throughout London. Well worth the cost. Do a taxi tour your first day so you get a feel for the city and what's out there. We waited until our last day, and found a few more sites we could have visited!
Theresa N, United States of America, July 2008

Our tour guide was wonderful. He was so interesting. He hit all of the hot Harry Potter spots and talked to my son and really got him into the trip. He also showed us and told us of other London sights as we passed them. We learned so much about Harry Potter and London from this trip. We would definitely do it again.
Terry L, United States of America, June 2008

Potter fans, take this tour! The black taxi was wonderful, the driver knew his stuff, and we had such a wonderful experience in London. We really felt like VIPs getting a firsthand look at London'S Potter sites.
Cynthia B, United States of America, June 2008

This tour was one of the highlights of our week in London. Our guide possessed that magic combination of high quality knowledge on London history and the ability to make it fun to hear. All important with pre-teen boys!
Kathy T, United States of America, February 2008

This tour was incredible. Our guide was so good that we booked another tour with him for later in the same week! Not only did it cover some great Harry Potter sites, but our guide also showed us some fascinating parts of London and major attractions throughout the tour as well. A definite highlight of our trip! Guide was on time, very friendly, very professional, and knew London and Harry Potter as best as anyone possibly could.
Brian D, United States of America, December 2007

We had a blast!
Colleen F, United States of America, December 2007

The Harry potter tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable.
Anonymous, United States of America, July 2009

A must for Harry Potter fans! My girls, 16, 17 & 20, had a memorable experience and fun pictures! Our driver was really kind and engaged the kids, testing their knowledge in a playful way.  With a full itinerary, you also get a bonus tour of central London! Service was great with pick up at our hotel. As Canadians, our dollar does not go far, but all considered, the cost was well worth it.
Anne S, Canada, July 2009

Our guide was really knowledgeable about Harry Potter. He also told us a lot of history about London. We loved this cab ride; it was quite enjoyable.
Suzanne M, United States of America, July 2009

I bought this tour as a gift for USA guests. It had been recommended to them by another person in USA who had been on it. They could not fault it in any way and said it was a great experience.
Edward F, United States of America, February 2009

A drive by tour of Harry Potter sites. Perfect for the young fan of the books and movies.
